I’m Kim. I’m the Plenty O’ Twenties publicist. I’ve also been friends with the founders, Steve and Rich, since nursery school. I consider myself very lucky for that.

As many of you know, Steve was one of the lucky bachelors and bachelorettes at the Project Cupid Charity Date Auction this past Saturday. A group of our friends all got together to pool our funds and bid on him. We raised $250 to bid on Steve…and WON! We were so excited. The event raised a projected $20,000 for Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. Everyone had a great time, two amazing causes were celebrated and supported, and everything went off without a hitch.
Two days after our victory, I was pulling together everyone’s “to-do” lists for Steve (do our laundry, wash our windows, pull together our taxes) when it occurred to me: We stripped a girl of a date with an awesome guy that she wanted to meet. OUR BAD! Steve is a really amazing friend. He’s been the glue that has held so many friendships together. The auction was really exciting and we got wrapped up in the challenge of bidding.
We’d like to extend an invitation to the other girls that were bidding against us: Lunch. Possibly at Border Cafe, Steve’s favorite restaurant. Shoot us an email. We’re buying. Steve was just flattered you bid on him and would love to meet you.
On behalf of Team Steve and Plenty O’ Twenties, I’d like to congratulate Ms. Amy Blue, the driving force behind Project Cupid, on a job well done. To all you lucky winners out there…have a blast on your date, but more importantly…
thank you.
The future of cancer research looks a little bit brighter because of you.
