What is Plenty of Twenties? Two lifelong friends, Steven Grant and Richard Cook, give away $20 bills by revealing the locations of where they hide them, and by holding fun, free contests for them.
Where do you hide them? Under mailboxes, on statues, in supermarkets, in trees, buried in dirt, taped to fire hydrants, in library books, in museums, in movie theatres, you name it. Anywhere is fair game.
Where and when do you give it away? We reveal their locations at random times on this site, and we usually share those posts on Facebook, Twitter and our Apple and Droid apps. We also feature Twitter Tuesday and Facebook Friday, where we give our followers exclusive tips on where the twenties are. We also have Mystery Monday, where you gotta figure out where the money is through our clues, codes, riddles or photos. And about once per week we reveal locations of twenties exclusively to our EMAIL CLUB subscribers. It’s free to subscribe, and we don’t share or sell your addresses to anyone. It’s not spam. If you receive an email from us, it’s because we’re trying to give you money.
Is it your own money? Most of it has been our money, but now businesses often pay us to give away their money because we can bring them customers, sales, buzz, Facebook Likes, you name it.
This is a cool idea but um, how do you expect to keep doing this? See previous answer.
How often do you give away money? At least once per day.
How many $20 bills do you hide at a time? Usually one.
What times of day will you announce it? It’s usually a surprise.
Are you promising me that I will receive any money from you? No. You have to win it or grab it before anyone else, silly!
What happened to my keys? I think I saw them on the kitchen table.
What if the cash isn’t there when I arrive? Somebody beat you to it.
Is there a catch here? No.
Is there an obligation? No.
What do I do once I have the money? Whatever you like. Spend it on a local business if you want. Let’s jump start this economy! And let us know YOU were the one who grabbed it. Email steve@plentyoftwenties.com and send us a fun pic of you and the dough.
