Karma, Grit and the Search for GoPro #5
ROB F. FINDS THE GOPRO WE HID IN THE F1 RACING PARKING LOT IN BRAINTREE!
Last month, Rob F. deciphered where we hid the first of six GoPros given to us by Eastern Bank. He cracked our riddle and raced to the Adams Inn in Quincy. But alas, he was 10 minutes too late. Gracious in defeat, he was nice enough to take the picture of the finder, Lisa. Rob is no sore loser, and he’s no quitter either. Guess who found GoPro #5? We doubted there were enough clues released for it to be found. We were wrong. Read his story below…
Hey Steve,Persistence (and a little luck) finally pays off boys!! After missing GoPro #1 by a mere 10 minutes (and having the privilege of actually taking the photo of the winner), I have been on a mission ever since to find one of the remaining five cameras.I knew I had to move quicker this time. After deciphering all the clues, I had a hunch the GoPro was at the Braintree Lumber store. (The “wood” clue lead me to believe it was there.) I was convinced to check it out after work today until one of my coworkers that lives on the South Shore informed me that there was a “Wood” Road in Braintree. Hmmmm?? Interesting…..We looked at it on Google maps and one of the sides of the street appeared to be all bushes and trees. I was more convinced than ever that I would find it there. I left work in Boston and after fighting through rush hour traffic, I finally made it to Wood Road. I drove down the street and sure enough noticed the “No parking. Cars towed & stored at owner’s expense” sign. I circled around and parked in a nearby parking lot and went to investigate. The first sign was attached to a telephone pole but after searching all around the area, no luck. There was a small ditch right behind the telephone pole that would have been a perfect spot to stash the camera. That’s when I started to think I was probably too late again…I continued to walk down the street and noticed another sign fitting the description that was really hidden in the shrubs. This had to be it!! After some more searching….nothing……Further down the road was yet another well hidden sign…also with no camera!! I searched all the areas over and over for about an hour before I got discouraged. I ruined my work pants, lost my sunglasses and had no camera to show for it. I walked back to the car dejected. I knew I was in the right place but was probably too late again! Before heading to the car, I decided to just take a quick walk around the parking lot and look to see if there was any more signs. (I was really just grasping at straws at this point.) The parking lot that I randomly parked in was for F1 Boston and a local gym. Walking past F1 Boston and towards the gym, I noticed a really faded sign among the bushes. When I got close enough to read it, it matched the clue description! I reached in and saw the Eastern Bank blue bag!!!!Stamp the big red “FOUND” on this one!!!Great job with this promotion guys!!Thanx!Rob Fournier
